_Thermal efficiency, outstanding aesthetics, cost effectiveness and durability are the primary reasons for the unprecedented growth of EIFS in recent years. Since it was discovered in Europe in the middle of the last century, the "system" has become increasingly popular with designers and consumers alike.

Founded in 1987, EIFS, a national not-for-profit industry trade association, represents the overall EIFS industry in Canada. The ECC membership is comprised of EIFS manufacturers, distributors, component suppliers, contractors, building science/design consultants, affiliates and financial services companies. The ECC serves as the “official voice” of the EIFS industry with a mandate to
provide for the advancement and growth of the industry across the country, through advocacy,
education and marketing.

U.S. Dept. of Energy study (2005-2011) proves:

    • EIFS control moisture better than:
      • Brick
      • Stucco
      • Concrete block, and
      • Fibre cement (hardboard) siding
